A big part of the swing is your hip turn both in the backswing and the through swing. A lot of golfers seem to have too much or too little. Here is an easy way to check how much hips in your swing.

Once you know how much hips you need try the drill I show in this tip. The hips are part of what is powering your swing. In previous tips I keep saying “legs and hips.” This means your legs and hips are your power source not your hands and arms.

Once you know how much hips you need please stay focused on this and get them working. Yes, there are other elements to the swing but most golfers are not utilizing their hips so they just end up hitting with their arms which doesn’t allow them to hit the ball as long and consistently as they could.
